The Museum of Petersburg Art is the repository of a unique collection of works by artists of the cultural capital of Russia. Currently, the collection contains more than 3,000 exhibits from different periods. The museum has works of art of various styles and trends created in the city over two centuries: the avant-garde of the 1920s, socialist realism after the Second World War, the "left wing" of the Union of Artists and the Underground of the 1960s and 70s, perestroika period and modern works.

Arts of the Northern Capital

The museum organizes various exhibitions from the collection of its works of art. Temporary exhibitions are being created at three sites of the main building: Lecture Hall, Graphic Office Hall, Big Hall, Blue Hall. The summer courtyard is also a venue for various cultural events and exhibition projects. Exhibitions are held even in other cities of Russia and abroad. An educational center operates on the territory of the Museum. An extensive educational program for lectures, workshops, and creative seminars is being carried out.
