Night of Museums is an international event when more than 2000 museums across Europe open their doors to visitors at night. The Hermitage, the Museum of Dostoevsky, the Museum of Political History of Russia and many others museums are waiting for you!

The "Night of Museums" will take place on the night of May 16-17, 2020

Did you know that once a year the main museums of Europe open their doors at night and receive visitors under a special program?

The action "Night of Museums", or "Art Night" timed to coincide with the celebration of the International Museum Day (May 18), takes place in 42 European countries. Each country and city has its own date for the action, but all the museums are oriented on the date of May 18 and the nearest weekend.
So why is this action so good?

First, the opportunity to visit St. Petersburg museums, such as Hermitage, Michailovsky Castle, Museum of Alexander Pushkin and other cultural and educational institutions at an unusual time of day — this not only plunges into a special atmosphere of romance, but also serves as an occasion for many mysterious and mystical events. On the day of the action, 110 museums, galleries, libraries, exhibition and concert halls will open the doors. Here museums are divided into two categories: the first are those that organize the evening program, from 18:00 to 23:00 — there are 55 such museums. The second category of museums is suitable for fans of night walks — they will work from 18: 00 to 06:00.

Secondly, all the participating museums receive visitors on the day of the action with a Single ticket at an incredible low price — 400 rubles. Children under 7 years old will be able to pass for free if the adult accompanying him has purchased a ticket.

The exact list of museums participating in the action will appear around the beginning of May, but now we can already say that the largest museums of the city, like every year, will definitely take part in the Night of Museums.

In any case, even if you do not plan to visit museums, this night is an excellent occasion to stroll around the evening and night Petersburg with the whole family. You will not get such feelings from any other stock!
