Districts of St. Petersburg

Modern Petersburg consists of 18 districts — Admiralty, Vyborg and so on — but the locals prefer its historical division and the usage of old names: Harbor, Sands, Kolomna, Staraya Derevnya (Old Village). The center of the city is considered to be the territory between the Bolshaya Nevka in the north, the steep bend of the Neva in the east, the Obvodny channel in the south and the Gulf of Finland in the west. The Fontanka River cuts it in half.

Below you can find detailed information about the four main districts of St. Petersburg - the Admiralteysky, Central, Vasileostrovsky, Petrogradsky.
