316 years since the founding
of St. Petersburg will be celebrated on May 27, 2019

According to legend, exactly 316 years ago Peter the great ordered to build a city in the Neva Delta. Many took his idea with hostility and did not believe that it was possible to build a city on the marshy lands near the Gulf of Finland. Traditionally, as a part of city day celebration in St. Petersburg will host a Grand public open air classical scene world stars concert in the heart of the city — on Palace square. The program of the concert will once again surprise fans of classical art versatility of repertoire and charismatic performance of classic music masterpieces.

St. Petersburg parade of retro transport

More than 200 historical cars, motorcycles, trucks, buses, trams and trolleybuses from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Veliky Novgorod, Volgograd, as well as special guests from Finland, Estonia and Latvia participate in the traditional urban transport retroparade. After the parade, everyone will be able to see and photograph the unique equipment, which will be located on the Engineering street in the open air.

Ice Cream Festival

Every year the program of the city day include the ice cream festival - the most popular summer dessert. On Ostrovsky square will be presented dozens of different varieties of author’s preparation ice cream. In addition, guests of the festival will be able to take part in various competitions.

Festive Fireworks

The program of the city day ends with a delightful salute. As a rule, the salute begins around 23:00. at the walls of the Peter and Paul fortress will give the first volleys, symbolizing the end of the anniversary celebration. The spit of Vasilyevsky island, Palace and Exchange bridges, as well as the Central embankments are favorite places to watch the fireworks, so we advise you to take places in advance.
