74 years ago, the Great Patriotic War, which lasted 4 long years and claimed millions of lives, ended in the defeat of Nazi Germany. Since then, Victory Day is annually celebrated on May 9 in all cities and villages of our homeland. This is the time when tribute is paid to the heroes who fought in the battles, to the soldiers who did not return from the front, to all those who worked in the rear and did everything they could to survive and win. May 9 is officially declared a day off. In honor of the holiday, solemn processions and wreath laying at mass graves and monuments are held throughout the country, concerts and fireworks are organized, words of gratitude are given to veterans.
